![]() Thanks for posting! I can't imagine my internet connection being cut in the UK just because someone thinks I am using it illegaly and causing other people problems, without evidence. They just need to be clear about the terms & conditions/rules. I can't find a ' fair use policy' (by the way this term is popular among the ISP's around the world ) on the Hornet website but I would certainly follow that rule if it exists. I can't imagine the University of Manchester/Hornet not being able to provide the same connection. I am paying about 30£/month for my current home internet connection where I can transfer gigabytes (if not terabytes) of legal data each month without causing anyone any problems. ![]() ![]() (is that even legal, lol) It may not cost them anything but the school fees (and etc.) do cost me approximately 20,000£ each year, as an international student. There's probably a fair use policy somewhere (350GB a month will almost certainly break it). If they think you're using it illegally and causing other people problems they can cut you off - it doesn't cost them anything. No, it'll cause you problems - they're not obliged to give you internet.
